“The Bird crosses across the boundaries of conscious and unconscious life.”

This presentation will focus on the importance of natural symbols like the Bird in any form of Jungian work. Symbols build the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious and are essential for a healthy psyche. They are the best, and at times, the only medium to express that which is in the unconscious and bring it into consciousness.

The Bird is a key Jungian symbol, as it is found everywhere, at all times. The Bird crosses across the boundaries of conscious and unconscious life. It roams the earth, the skies, the heavens, and swims in the oceans and the seas.

We will use imagery as well as myths across cultures to broaden our understanding of the Bird as an indispensable symbol, matched only by the Snake.

 Who Is It For

  • This seminar is for everyone interested in Dr. Jung's concept of universal symbols.

  • Regardless of the audience's level of symbolic knowledge and Jungian background, the material will resonate with those who are open to working with symbols in their personal and (as analysts) in their professional lives.

  • Although some prior dream work is of an advantage, it is not necessary. By the end of the presentation, the participants will have understood the vital importance of working with symbols towards attaining a healthy psyche.

 What You Will Learn

  • We will then study specifically the symbolism of the Bird across cultures, eras, mythologies, and places.

  • By the end of the presentation, participants will understand the vital importance of working with symbols, and specifically of the Bird as a key symbol in dreams and analysis.
