Disability
and Its Archetypal Representations
90-min presentation, on Zoom
“Through myths and stories, we shall investigate the archetypal underpinning of disability.”
Nearly 15% of the world's population lives with a disability. The lecture and following discussion will focus on several archetypal representations of disabled Gods and Goddesses. Through myths and stories, we shall investigate the archetypal underpinning of disability and get to some conclusions on the potential dynamics of our understanding of this complex phenomenon.
We shall use the myths of Hephaestus and Aštavakra to emphasize the differences between East and West. The participants will be able to use the narratives to gain insight into living with a disability and relating to people with disabilities.

“…well-articulated, provocative yet not argumentative.”
Milos Rokic is a remarkable thinker. With both broad and deep backgrounds in science, psychology, and Jung, he is constantly looking for ways to deepen our understanding of Jung and the archetypal, within our present 21st-century paradigms. His insights are invariably fresh and well-articulated, provocative yet not argumentative. Milos is comfortable with the truth, whatever it may be.
